Sharp Vision Systems Overview

The Sharp IVS Sensors are compact, yet complete, machine vision systems. It consists of one or two cameras for capturing images and a controller for processing images and generating output signals. A computer is not required, as is typically the case in conventional machine vision systems.  All programming can be done on a Video Monitor as well as watching the live inspection process.

Sharp vision systems can operate independently or as part of a PLC system.

The controller has a built in PLC with eight inputs and eight outputs which can be configured for pass/fail or any other desired discrete signals.

Connection to a PLC

Integration to a PLC using discrete inputs is the easiest way to interface with the vision system.

If applications require data to be transferred to a PLC for evaluation, a serial interface is included. The vision system includes a Mitsubishi PLC interface, which writes directly to the PLC’s data table.
